Amete The most recent Crysis 3 development was announced on June 12, 2011. Along with this announcement came four new screenshots of the game. Since then, nothing has been heard about it until now. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli revealed that their vision for Crysis 3 is to create the “next level” of first-person shooters which will redefine what players should come to expect from other FPS games. He also referred to the game as an “engine check” for the CryENGINE 3. The game is now confirmed to be released in Spring 2013 after its official reveal on May 21, 2012. The game was officially announced on May 21, 2012 at E3 2012. According to Yerli, the game will not support DirectX 11 but it is intended to be an Xbox One exclusive title with early access for those who pre-order the console. The game was developed with CryENGINE 3 available on PC but Sony Computer Entertainment does not allow third party developers to develop cross platform titles using their proprietary hardware and software. Crysis 3 was originally planned to be a next generation title and for this reason it was postponed and set as a PC exclusive, even though it still could have been released on the Xbox 360. On June 21, 2012 Yerli confirmed that Crytek were developing the game exclusively for Xbox One and that it could be considered one of the launch titles if the console is released in late 2013. His statement was reinforced by Crysis producer Mike Read who said that Crytek had “the right [tools] to do something great with [Crysis 3] on [Xbox One]. ” On May 28, 2013 in an interview to EuroGamer, Yerli stated: ""The truth is we haven’t built a next generation engine and we haven’t built a console version of the game. We may do something in the future, but right now we’re just focused on Xbox One and building an amazing closed-off environment that makes all that possible. I think it could be great on the PC - I think it could be great on the Wii U - I just don’t know if we will ever build it for all those things. We have enough pressure right now to just do the next-gen version because of core principles. If you build the right things for the next-gen platform, it saves you time later on to be able to build for other platforms. We are very focused on Xbox One. I don’t know what will happen in the future, but right now I can say that Xbox One is our priority." There was an official trailer released by Crytek on June 10, 2013 that confirmed that "Crysis 3" will be first game out for Microsoft's first-person shooter console Xbox One which should be released in 2013. The free downloadable game was launched worldwide on November 19, 2013 by Electronic Arts.
